Internal Poll Shows Ali Surging to Second in Jersey City Mayoral Race

A new internal poll from Mussab Ali’s campaign, conducted by Swayable, shows him pulling into second place in the race for Jersey City mayor, narrowing the gap with frontrunner Jim McGreevey. The poll, conducted in mid-October, shows McGreevey leading with 29 percent support and Ali in second place at 17 percent, with more than a quarter of voters still undecided.
Ali’s team credits the momentum to a growing digital campaign that they say has reached over 38 million impressions online.
“This poll confirms what we’ve been feeling on the ground,” said campaign manager Thomas Connelly. “Jersey City residents are ready for new leadership that reflects our city’s energy and diversity. Our campaign to put people over special interests, fix our transit infrastructure, and bring down housing costs is resonating across every ward.”
The poll marks a sharp rise for Ali, who was polling in the single digits just a few months ago. Meanwhile, McGreevey’s support has remained steady in the polls, holding between 27 and 30 percent. O’Dea briefly polled higher over the summer but has since dropped, and Solomon has seen a steady decline since July.
With early voting approaching, Ali’s team says the latest numbers reflect growing support across the city.
