CAMPAIGN INTERNSHIP:
As a Campaign Intern for the Ali for Jersey City 2025 campaign, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to nearly every part of a grassroots political operation. This is a hands-on role that evolves over time based on your skills, interests, availability, and level of involvement.Interns will support both Mussab Ali’s mayoral campaign and the city council candidates running on his slate. Whether you're knocking doors, helping draft messaging, coordinating events, or researching local issues, you’ll be part of the day-to-day team working to win this election.
This internship is ideal for individuals who want a broad understanding of how campaigns work and are ready to jump in wherever they’re needed most.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Canvass door-to-door and talk directly with voters
Support phone banking, text banking, and digital outreach
Help organize volunteer trainings, events, and town halls
Assist with community outreach, coalition-building, and visibility efforts
Conduct research on local issues, policy priorities, and opposing candidates
Staff the candidate at public events and assist with photography, logistics, or note-taking
Contribute to press, fundraising, or digital projects depending on your strengths
Adapt to new responsibilities as campaign needs shift throughout the election cycle

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERNSHIP:
As a Graphic Design Intern with the Ali for Jersey City 2025 campaign, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how voters see and engage with our movement. From social media graphics to printed materials, your designs will directly impact the visibility and momentum of our grassroots campaign.
You’ll work alongside a small, hands-on team – including the campaign manager, chief of staff, and candidates themselves – gaining direct experience in political design and communications. Interns will support both Mussab Ali’s mayoral campaign and the city council candidates running on his slate.
This internship is ideal for students and early-career designers looking to build their portfolio, collaborate with experienced campaign staff, and apply their creative skills to drive meaningful change.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Design graphics for social media, digital ads, campaign literature, and outreach materials
Create templates and design packages for ward-specific and citywide messaging
Collaborate with senior campaign staff on content strategy and visual branding

As a Video Production Intern with the Ali for Jersey City 2025 campaign, you’ll help shape the story of a grassroots movement by creating powerful, engaging, and authentic video content. From short-form videos for social media to full-length interviews and campaign highlight reels, your work will play a central role in how voters connect with Mussab Ali and the council candidates running on his slate.
Interns will collaborate with senior campaign staff and candidates to develop and produce video content that communicates key messages, highlights events, and mobilizes voters. Whether you're filming in the field or editing footage remotely, your work will directly influence how the campaign reaches people across Jersey City.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Film and edit videos for social media, campaign events, and digital outreach
Create short-form content for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
Assist in developing video scripts and storyboards in coordination with campaign messagingCapture footage from canvassing events, speaking engagements, and community appearances
